This little boy couldn't have been more excited for his first day at his new school on September 1st 2013!
In Germany, kindergarten starts at age 3. Stew is in the Wind group and his classroom consists of 25 kids ranging from 3-5yrs, and there are 3 very sweet teachers to look after them. The day starts between 830-9a and he stays through 3pm, Monday-Friday. After breakfast and free play, they have morning circle time where they talk about their weekend, days of the week/months, seasonal events, they count, and read stories. Following this they hit the playground for 45 mins and then come inside for a family style hot german lunch. Then it's time for some free play and quiet time before the head back out to the playground. We are so lucky because it's only a 5 minute walk to Stew's school and he is so excited about going every morning. He has started to say a few short german phrases, and I'm sure he'll be almost fluent in only a few months since they say the kids pick up new languages so fast!
