Welcoming Spring w/ Sunday Shopping

If you don't already, all stores are closed on Sunday's in Germany.  This can take some real getting used to for us Americans who are used to picking up food for Sunday dinner or running to home depot to finish that back yard project.  However, it forces you to take your Sunday for exactley what it is mean to be: A day or rest and relaxation before the start of another week.

There are 2 days a year however when each town is allowed to open their shops on Sundays and it is celebrated in the only way good Germans know how; with Beer & Bratwurst.

This springs Sunday shopping happened to fall on the first day of the year where the sun was shinning and the temps were warm.  Our good friends Liz, Martin, and their kids / Stew's friends Evelyn & Leo joined us to help ring in the Spring!
