Luck O' The Irish, My Arse......

We took a trip over to Dublin, Ireland in search of this infamous "Luck O' The Irish" everyone keeps talking about.

Our good friends Joy and Rick were kind enough to watch Stew for us for a weekend in January.  We were in high spirits as we boarded a plane for an adults only weekend in Dublin.

After settling in at the hotel we set out on foot in search of live Irish music and a pint of Guinness.  Given the time of year, we were walking in freezing temps and pouring rain so we quickly decided that any pub would do!  The Guinness was absolutely delicious and we were so impressed with how outgoing and kind everyone was to us.  After visiting a couple of pubs we went to dinner at this trendy restaurant on George Street.

And that's where our luck ended....the flu set in at about 8pm Friday night for Jackie and she didn't leave the hotel room all weekend.  Then on Saturday following a city tour in the pouring rain, Todd paid a visit to the urgent care.  It turns out he'd come down with a weeeee' bit of the shingles.  Ohhhhhhhh, it burned like the fire of a thouuuussssand suns, it did!

The only thing at the end of this rainbow, but was a giant pot of SH*T.  Thank god the hotel room was nice and the bed was comfortable!!

Here are a couple of pics before we lost our four leafed clover...
