English Charm

I took a short but nice little trip to visit our neighbor to the west, The United Kingdom. Bosch has a nice office in a little town called Denham where I took some (much needed) training. I got to stay in a traditional 16th Centruy English Pub / Inn, spend some time walking the country side, polish off some fish & chips and down a couple "proper pints" of England's finest.

The Falcon Inn was called Emmots Deye when Henry VIII came to the throne & was in turn held by Richard Curtis, Thomas Falx & John Maskel until 1573. It must have been a valuable property and a prosperous beer house because John’s grandson Robert paid a £2 fine on entry, an enormous sum in those days. The Falcon has been serving excellent Ale & Fayre since those early days of Richard Curtis right through to the present time, being well reputed as an excellent Bed and Breakfast in Denham.

The only slight hicupp of the trip was when they showed me to my rental car. Everything looked in order until I got and went to put the key in the ignition only to realize that the wheel was on the other side of the car. This lead to a very "exciting" drive form the airport to my hotel which included some very white knuckles and a few near misses.

The whole family will head back in May when I go over for some training and we plan to make a nice trip out of it. Although, the plan to spend some RELAXING time driving ourselves around the country side might need some minor revision!
